Cats.

In the past couple of years I've learned something about myself, as much as i like dogs, i really am more of a cat person, which is why i found myself taking photos of cats today :D

Beyond the Horizon.

I mentioned before that one of my favourite subjects of photography was light trails, well another of my favourites is cloudscapes, & with this sunsets/sunrises, which provide for some interesting photos, like this :D

Morning Glory.

Another photo from December, I love trains, particually steam trains like this one, the Pacific Steam Locomotive No. 34067 Tangmere. as it goes through Portslade-by-Sea station travelling to the Bath Xmas Market, aprox. 120-150 miles away.

Winter.

To me winter only means one thing to me, it gets darker early in the afternoon, & because it gets darker earlier it means I can capture one of my personal favourite subjects of photography, light trails. Now as its January, its gradually now starting to stay lighter for longer, so I thought i;d show you some of the light trails I caught during the nights of December. :)

Ok, technically the last photo here was from the year before last, but its still one of my favourite light trail/long exposure photos i've ever taken. These were all also taken with my older camera. :)

Haunting.

These were the first proper test photos from my new camera, taken of the full moon from my back garden, both with the full moon in focus & out of focus. I thought they both looked good, they had a chilling feel to them, so I named them Haunting.

I don't use generally use the manual setting on my cameras, usually preset ones such as portrait etc. These photos are no different, but as this was a test of my new camera, I decided to try a preset mode that was new to me, Toy Camera mode, an in camera photo edit mode, it makes the colour pronouced & gives a shading effect around the edges of the photo.

2012.

Well, how to start this new blog then? I would say happy new year, but, that was two weeks ago. So this will be my photogaphy blog, which you guessed it, i'll be showing my photography on, so enjoy :)

So to start off the new year I got a new camera, the Sony SLT a35, which i've had my eye on for a while. Previously I had (well, technically still have) the Sony a200 DLSR. I bought a flashgun with some of the money I got for xmas, I also got rain mack for my camera at xmas too.
